The New Year is here, bringing change and hope to us all. New opportunities and prospects await us. Many of us have made our minds up about what we want to do in the New Year; some of us will take things as they come. For all our members out there, whatever your plans may be in the New Year, we want to let you know that WBFN is a place where you can just walk in and make friends any time of year and find opportunities to do something new. This issue of Mosaic carries a plethora of wonderful and diverse articles from our members. We spotlight Tania Gnesdilova, the WBFN computer teacher who completes her 10th year as a dedicated staff. A perspective piece, “A wedding too...” is well-crafted and sensitive. It focuses on an uncommon wedding and offers a new angle of thought. We take you on a culture club tour through the Sackler Gallery offering you a glimpse of the Royal paintings from Jodhpur. Our English Class teachers and students give you a hint of how exciting language learning at WBFN can be. We had the opportunity to host a baby shower for one of our members and we bring you an account of the fun experienced on the occasion. The culinary journey with our Ethnic food series continues, focusing on Asian markets in the DC area. Our Teens highlight some of the word differences in American and British English. Finally, please read our new useful information page which focuses on helpful and practical tips for all our members.
The Mosaic Team wishes you all the best in the year to come.
Maaike le Grand and Vidya Rangan.
