April sets the tone for lively, dynamic and active days. The weather has gotten better and everyone is excited to get out after being snowed in over the past four odd months. April is a hectic month at WBFN too. We have a whole range of activities and events coming up this month and the next. We are in the process of electing our new Executive Committee members and soon their bios will be posted on our website. This month we will be hosting our Annual Exhibits and Events at the MC Atrium. It is good place to find information on how WBFN assists families, observe members showcase their work and enjoy our children’s artwork on display. Several of the WBG services and our outreach programs will also have their booths where you will be able to find more information. Also, we are looking out for volunteers and if you can spare your time please sign up to help us during this exciting annual event.
This month’s Mosaic is especially member- friendly because we are announcing all of our big events for the rest of the year so that our members can put these important dates on their calendars and plan ahead. Also, through our lead article we have made an attempt to take our members on a tour of our website affording them a chance to really understand the layout and content of our website. Henry’s succinct notes on each link will help you explore our site and discover useful links you might have missed. An article of interest to our members abroad is by Mishka and talks of how a Yahoo forum they have set up is helping families moving to field offices. Now is the time to explore the DC Metro area, so why not pay a visit to Geoff restaurant says Vim, our review writer. Also, I bring my take on volunteering and how it helps you along with helping the person or cause you are volunteering for! I hope that after reading my article you will be motivated to join all the wonderful volunteers at the WBFN. As usual, we eagerly look forward to receiving your feedback and contributions. Until the next time…enjoy spring and the cherry blossoms because every lovely season is a fleeting miracle.
